As a submarine military veteran, I bring a unique perspective to my work in technology. Leading a division and operating nuclear reactors instilled discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving under pressure. Now, as a computer science student at Emory University, I’m eager to channel those skills and contribute to impactful projects!
When I served as a reactor operator and electronics technician on a fast attack submarine, I was immersed in an environment where science and technology met real-world challenges. The power of using engineering insights to solve complex problems ignited my curiosity to study computer science.
At Emory University, I've embraced this passion by diving into cutting edge tech like Machine Learning and AI, as well as mastering computer science fundamentals like Algorithms and Computer Architecture. Each class has both expanded my knowledge and reinforced the belief that technology drives world changing innovation.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy getting outdoors to camp and hike, having completed 1,000 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Filmmaking and guitar-playing have been my creative outlets lately, having made three short films and one feature length film. My dream guitar is the Alvarez Yairi DY1!
