As a submarine military veteran, I bring a unique perspective to my work in technology. Leading a division and operating nuclear reactors instilled discipline, teamwork, and problem-solving under pressure. Now, as a computer science student at Emory University, I’m eager to channel those skills into creating innovative solutions, contributing to impactful projects, and pushing the boundaries of cutting-edge technologies.
My journey into computer science has been shaped by both my military background and my academic pursuits. As a reactor operator and electronics technician in the Navy, I was immersed in a world where science and technology meet real-world challenges. The power of applying scientific principles to solve complex problems ignited my curiosity and passion for technology. At Emory University, I've embraced this passion by diving into courses like Machine Learning, where I explore how algorithms can transform data into actionable insights. Each class has not only expanded my knowledge but also reinforced my belief in technology as a tool for innovation.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy hiking — having completed 1,000 miles of the Appalachian Trail, I find inspiration in nature's challenges. I also express creativity through filmmaking, having made three short films, and I play guitar, which allows me to unwind through music.
